Plumbing is something we all fell in love with. Modern plumbing is possibly the greatest invention of all time. It provides potable water for cooking and drinking and also removes methane and unsanitary liquids from our homes. Each and every Friday we gather as a team for one hour and talk about technical concerns. It is amazing that each week, each of us learn something new. Plumbing is not simple. Plumbing is hard disciplined work that requires great thought.
We protect the health and safety of the nation. One could quickly affect a plumbing system by neglecting an installation or repair of a fixture, water line, or sewer line. Each plumber at Approved Plumbing Co is required to bring in 42 specific personal tools to ensure jobs are being performed safety and most efficiently, not to mention the 114 minimal truck tools that Approved Plumbing Co provides for each technician. One great plumber once told me, we are only as good as our knowledge, skills, and tools combined. Without one of the three, we will not be able to provide great service to our clients and our community.
Can you imagine our community without plumbing? The population of Cuyahoga County in the 2017 U.S. Census was 1.249 million people. 50 years ago, the population in our county was over 1.700 million people. Although our population has decreased by almost 500 thousand people, our civilization continues to remove trees and build new homes and commercial structures. This decrease is consistent throughout the entire United States with an approximate 35% population decline over the past 50 years.
- Are we outgrowing our existing structures?
- Are we neglecting old buildings and structures because it is easier to abandon and move?
- Why do we need more space when our population has decreased?
- Is our species becoming larger in size?
- Do we need more room as individuals?
- Is it a throw away world? Are people too greedy?
- Will our species survive in the next 50 years?
We had the pleasure of building a new three unit multi-home in Tremont a few years ago. It felt good knowing we didn’t have to demolish trees in order to provide for our families. All of us were proud to work on such a project, thank you to the Larsen Lumber family.
